Description: Hangehange is a small tree with shining pale green leaves and slender brittle branches. It grows up to 4m in height and is classified as a bushy shrub as it tends to have a thin trunk. In a dry summer, the leaves wilt and yet it seems to survive a drought well. I love the softness of its appearance and the green of its leaves, which are light under the canopy of a coastal forest.
The leaves are opposite, pointed and oval. The scent of its greenish-white flowers is sweet in the spring. The fruit develop in summer. They are black capsules, which split into two valves. When the seed capsule opens, it reveals only the dark seed tips held within an enlarged pulpy placenta.
Meaning: Trust in the space before words. Trust in the unknown. Hangehange allows a sensitivity to the presence of something different, an otherworldliness, a valve if you like between the dimensions, and it can swing open. This remedy leads you to self-acceptance, and a greater ability to accept others without the need to project or use your will to change them.
